My Letter To TOI

Dear TOI Editorial Team,

First of all happy independence day to all of you. I just went through the e-paper of TOI for 15 August and was really happy to see front page with out tri-colors.

You couldn't have given better gift to readers from TOI than this on independence day. On the most prestigious day of your country you do not have any vote of thanks or even acknowledgement from your side to the readers on the front page. I remember at least till last year we used to get greetings from Prime minister and President on the day; I wonder if their offices missed out sending those greeting to TOI this year.

When Mallika Sherawat went to Canes, every day her pictures were on the front page with cover stories. When friendship day or valentine day is round the corners you never miss to keep front page pouring with those informations.MMS scandle was toping your charts from past few months. This has proved one thing to me at least; now even print media is also following the latest trend followed by the e-media called "Jo chalta hai vohi chapta hai aur bikta hai"

Its worth mentioning here though our independence day managed to get some space in the few pages that too blended with the spicy statements of film community and in cartoons which indeed are dreadful (At least for me). I know it's work of cartoonist to portrait a public problem or issue in a lighter way but at least I can not appreciate this gesture on the independence day. I don't want to let you people know your job as you all are true professionals, but I never expected such low standards from the premier newspaper of my country.

I am currently working in New York and I read TOI frequently; I just want to mention at the end that I am really very disappointed with this e-paper released for 15th Aug; though I still I hope and wish that the next year I will see my tri colors flowing all over the front page. Nothing can be more full filling and satisfying for me than that as a reader.
