Chak De India Review - A Must Watch
Review:
Sometimes winning is everything; being a runner-up only puts you under scrutiny and humiliation, especially when you belong to a country which is although proclaimed as a liberal and secular country but people still believe it’s a country for Hindu and those who doesn’t belong to the religion should have been sent back to the place where they belong. Not trying to burn any fire on the religious issues but only making ground to my review for “Chak De India.”
Pursuit of a dream to get his mother back to their home with respect & dignity and thrust of patriotism to let the country achieve the highest goals are not bound to any religion but only to the belief of your’s. Kabir who once captained Indian Men’s hockey redeemed his lost glory 7 years later, when he coached the Indian Women's Hockey team in Australia world cup, where the team fetched Gold medal. If you thought Lagaan was a masterpiece for sports-theme based movie then Chak De goes a step ahead to be the ultra masterpiece of all such sports-theme based movie. Also one of the most underrated aspect of this movie which you would not notice is “The Woman Empowerment”. This movie truly is a great example to show how you could put such a strong social message to large audience.
The scene where the Indian Men’s Hockey team hails the Woman Hockey team would let you spellbound.
SRK rocks, he is unarguably the best fit for the role; I don’t think anybody would have done complete justice to the role apart from him. He belongs to the same grassroots which is the back ground of Kabir Khan and that make his the best suit. His new look with a beard in the film gives an extra edge of sporting. You can find nothing wrong in the new Avtaar of King Khan. Other performance by Bindia Naik center field, Preeti Sabarwal center forward, Koumal Chaultala right forward and Vidya Sharma the goalkeeper captain too excel. This is truly a team spirit movie where each one complements each other which make this movie an unforgettable piece of work.
I would have named the movie as “The forgotten Heroes”, The best scene of movie for me is when Sharukh utters this dialogue on the eve of final Match – "Aaj Pehli Baar Dekh Raha Hoon Kisi gore Ko Tiranga Pehrate Hue'. It really touches your heart and makes you feel the pain and in the heart leaves nothing but true patriotism.
